Rangers punter in radio rage as he claims Celtic should have STOPPED Dundee United humiliation

Celtic went too far against Dundee United and should have taken pity on Jack Ross and his team at 5-0, according to a vexed Clyde 1 Superscoreboard caller.

Ange Postecoglou and his side ran riot at Tannadice and inflicted on the Tangerines their heaviest ever home defeat - picking up the biggest away win in their history in the process. Kyogo and Liel Abada hit trebles while Jota, Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt all chimed in to pile the misery onto a United side, who have now conceded 23 goals in their last four competitive games.

Speaking after the game, Postecoglou insisted opposing boss Ross didn't need his sympathy. He praised his players for remaining professional and showing respect for United as they refused to take their foot off the gas even when the scoreline was far beyond their reach and many home players appeared to have downed tools. One Rangers fan though seems to have had other ideas as Tom, from Renfrew, called up Clyde 1 with his take on events in Tayside. In an incredible exchange with host Gordon Duncan, he claimed they should have taken pity on United out of concern for their morale. You can read the full interaction below.

Rangers fan Tom, from Renfrew : "Yesterday's game between Celtic and Dundee United, I've got the greatest of respect for Celtic, I'm a Rangers supporter but the way they're playing is magnificent at the moment. But what are these young lads going to think about at Dundee United, the way they were beaten? Four, five-nil, yeah, great, but why carry on til nine?"

Gordon Duncan : "So Celtic should have deliberately stopped scoring?"

Tom : "I wouldn't say stop scoring but let Dundee United play."

Duncan : "Why?"

Tom : "It's a game of football is it not?"

Duncan : "Exactly. I'm not sure that answer means what you think it means. Is that not the idea, to keep playing as you always would regardless of what the score is?"

Tom : "Yes, but at the same time, why score the nine goals and humiliate these young lads?"
