James Tavernier has won the Rangers player of the year award just hours after guiding his side to 3-1 win over Hibernian at Easter Road.
Michael Beale's Light Blues have had a disappointing season with their fierce rivals Celtic looking to secure a treble if they beat Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup final next month. Tavernier scored the opening goal in his sides victory over Lee Johnson's side in Leith earlier today. His direct free-kick came on his 400th appearance for the Govan side and gave him his 101st goal in a Rangers shirt. It means Beale's team are now three wins from three in the post-split fixtures.
Earlier this evening Tavernier picked up the award for best player this season. The Englishman has been a constant in the Gers team this year under previous boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst and now Beale. Tavernier picked up the players' player of the year award last season with Alfredo Morelos grabbing the player of the year crown.
Malik Tillman also followed up his award for PFA Young Player of the Year with the Ibrox club's honour. And there was special recognition for club legend Jimmy Bell who was remembered at the ceremony with the John Greig Achievement Award.
