Rangers have paid tribute to former striker Don Kichenbrand, who has sadly passed away at the age of 91.
Nicknamed The Rhino, Kichenbrand was a key figure in Rangers’ success during the 1955-56 season, playing a crucial role in their title-winning campaign under manager Scot Symon.
His time at Ibrox was brief but highly impactful, as he found the net an impressive 24 times in just 25 league outings. In total, he made 37 appearances for the club before continuing his playing career elsewhere.
Born in South Africa, Kichenbrand had a footballing journey that took him across continents. Beyond his spell at Rangers, he played for Sunderland, Forfar Athletic, and Keith in the UK, as well as several clubs in his homeland.
His physical presence and goal-scoring ability made him a standout forward wherever he played.
