Former Labour MSP Alasdair Morrison has become the new PR chief at Rangers and will handle corporate and political affairs for the club.
The 54-year-old from North Uist had already been working for the Ibrox club on a consultancy basis and was heavily involved in major rows with Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government.
According to the Scottish Express Morrison will not be involved in the day-to-day football side of things with Michael Beale and his players and will work closely managing director Stewart Robertson and the Ibrox board.

The appointment comes after former DUP councillor David Graham stepped down as Rangers' Director of Communications in October last year after a short but highly explosive period in charge when he made radical changes to media access to the club which have subsequently been scrapped.
Morrison, a former BBC journalist born and brought up in North Uist, was hired by Rangers to help out in their battle with Glasgow City Council in 2020 over a fan zone outside Ibrox.
He was also involved when the club wrote to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on behalf of Rangers to blast comments made by Sturgeon’s deputy John Swinney over the title celebrations in 2021 when the country was affected by strict Covid rules.
Light Blues fans descended on Ibrox against lockdown restrictions and then thousands marched on George Square where damage was done and there were clashes with police.
Morrison was also subsequently involved in the Freedom of Information inquiry that followed that Rangers feel vindicates them from failing to try to prevent disturbances.
