The Old Firm triple header has popped up on the horizon but mind games and wind ups have already started.
Rangers fans reckons Celtic punters are jealous watching the Ibrox men competing in Europe, while the Hoops faithful are convinced their rivals are running scared.
We’ve going to be in for an eventual few weeks' build-up at this rate and Hotline regular Gordon Ashley has already got the Light Blues up in arms.
Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "I cannot wait to hear Gordon Ashley's views on the latest episode of Dragons Den.
"I suppose Celtic's failures in Europe has saved him money as he won't be needing BT Sports for a while.”
Stuart Pearson, via email, said: “Even more hot air from the balloon from Ayr. Why don’t we name the Hotline the Gordon Ashley whingefest? He claims he's watched Celtic for 40 years, that explains why he knows nothing about fitba.”
Hotline caller Kenny Goff said Celtic were enjoying good fortune this season.
But Dean Ridgers, Barassie, said: “Kenny Goff thinks, or maybe hopes, Celtic were just lucky against Dundee United on Monday night.
“But five minutes of highlights doesn’t tell the full picture. Thirty unbeaten domestically would be a better gauge, with still more to come.”
Rangers punters haven’t been happy with Scottish officials this season and if it’s not decisions going against their side that’s rilling them up, it’s the big calls Celtic are getting.
But Hoops fan Paul Keenan emailed: “This persecution complex that is mandatory for Rangers fans is so entertaining, if you say it enough they maybe do really believe they are victims. What next, sporting integrity?”
Gary Kelly, via email, said: “Rangers moaned that much about referees, they actually sent a letter of complaint to the SPFL whilst their managing director was on the SPFL board.
“Trying to get Reo Hatate banned, this guy has a cheek after Ryan Jack's horrific tackles that have gone unnoticed.
“People clearly have an agenda against Celtic and it just shows they are scared.”
Craig Campbell, Tollcross, said: “Rangers fans are crying about VAR because they know the title is heading to Celtic Park this season.
“They will start greeting about the fixture list next, they are just getting the excuses in early.”
Speak of the devil, Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: “I’m not sure what the caller saying Ryan Kent should get a penalty if brought down is on about.
“No one is saying he shouldn’t. What fans of several clubs have said is referees should clamp down on his constantly looking for a dangling leg to deliberately run into and fall down. It is blatant cheating and our refs know it.”
Scotland’s World Cup play-off with Ukraine has been understandably bumped back to June but there’s another suggestion for the tie.
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, said: “It's not Ukraine's fault they are momentarily stuck in a war but let's see some sportsmanship from UEFA and give Ukraine a bye right to the World Cup. Wales and Scotland could sit this one out, instead of complaining about their fixture list. It’s not as if Scotland are going to win it.
Finally, Chelsea could be forced to play in the Champions League in an empty Stamford Bridge as part of the sanctions dished out to Roman Abramovich.
But Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, said: “I agree with sanctions against Russian Oligarchs and understand Chelsea can't sell tickets.
“Can the Tory government not allow supporters in for free (especially children), after all if the assets are in the hands of the government now?”
