Robby McCrorie has told manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst that he will be ready to step up for Rangers when required.
The 24-year-old has signed a new deal with the Light Blues until 2025 after displaying his potential. He is currently third choice behind Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin in the pecking order but the stopper called up by Scotland recently insists his love for Rangers was a big factor behind putting pen to paper again.
Senior minutes have been limited at Ibrox but he believes he's sent a big message with his deal, and that it's all preparing him for becoming the number one at some stage.
He told Rangers TV: I’m happy to get it done. I love the club. Signing the contract is hopefully a statement of intent going forward for myself and the club. I think it’s important to try and assert myself in the team, to do everything possible to make myself successful.
"More importantly, make the club successful. Hopefully I can play as many games as possible, but I think everyone at the club wants to have a positive impact on and off the pitch.
“Over the period of this contract it’s important that when the time comes, I’ll be ready. Hopefully the manager puts that faith in me and then it’s up to myself on the pitch.
"The reason I signed the contract is because I love the club. I want to really kick on with my career and establish myself as a first-team goalkeeper.”
