Rangers 'list' Archie Brown as potential target but Celtic also 'run checks' on Lausanne star

Rangers have listed Archie Brown as a potential signing in the left-back area - with Celtic also keeping tabs according to a report.

The Daily Mail claim Michael Beale has placed the Lausanne's highly-rated full-back a place on his summer transfer target sheet as a big summer overhaul at Ibrox begins. Kieran Dowell has already put pen to paper on a pre-contract from Norwich City to kick off the incomings with Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander heading in the opposite direction with contracts set to expire.

Englishman Brown moved to Switzerland on a free transfer in 2021 and has enjoyed a successful campaign. He's played 35 games in all competitions scoring five and chipping in with four assists. The 6ft 3in defender is reportedly up for grabs this summer for a fee in the excess of £2million.

However, the Old Firm duo would face competition from a number of clubs across Europe with FC Copenhagen one side named to have shown an interest states the same report.

Borna Barisic is set for talks with Beale over his contract situation as he now enters the final year of his current terms. Ridvan Yilmaz is also on the books and has had a run in the team of late as he bids to show he should be the starting full-back on the left side.

Across the city, Greg Taylor has made the Celtic position his own but deputy Alexandro Bernabei has yet to show that real impact when called upon by the Hoops.

Rangers have been linked with a host of names this summer including Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Auston Trusty, Ike Ugbo and Luis Palma.
