Rangers legends the Barca Bears on their way to Seville for Europa League final

The legendary Barca Bears are on their way to Seville to support their former team in the UEFA Europa League final.

Famous ex-players of the 1972 Rangers team who won the European Cup Winners' Cup were spotted in the airport departure lounge ahead of their trip.

The group includes former midfielder Alex MacDonald as well as forwards Derek Johnstone, Willie Johnston and Colin Stein.

Posted on social media by Oswald's Bar, the image was captioned "Rangers Royalty on their way".

The team gained their Barca Bears nickname after their 3-2 win against Dynamo Moscow in Barcelona 50 years ago.

Loyal fans were overjoyed to see the group back together in support of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team as they gear up to play Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.

Thousands of Rangers fans have been flocking to the Andalusia capital to show their support.

Commenting on the Barca Bears photo, one fan said: "Amazing picture! Class of 72."

Another added: "Amazing let's make memories again."

While on person wrote: "Wouldn't that be great if they could celebrate their 50 year anniversary in style by seeing the cup getting lifted."
