Rangers legends including Marvin Andrews and Gordon Durie are set to play in a charity match in memory of young Cambuslang Rangers fan Billy Drummond.
Billy passed away aged just 10-years-old in October 2020, having lived with cerebral palsy since birth.
Cambuslang renamed their main stand at Somervell Park 'The Billy Drummond Stand' in his honour at the start of this season in July.
And during Billy's battle in hospital in 2020, Cambuslang supported the ‘Wee Billy's Kits' campaign, as they encouraged other clubs to donate football strips to Billy, while he battled with his condition, to give him some joy at such a difficult time.
Clubs across the West of Scotland League and fans from as far afield as America donated kits for him.
Now the club intend to raise funds for his family with a star-studded Rangers Legends versus Cambuslang Rangers Legends clash at Somervell Park on Saturday, May 28.
Confirmed Ibrox legends so far include nine-in-a-row heroes Ian Ferguson, Gordon Durie and Charlie Miller, as well as former title winners Marvin Andrews and Bob Malcolm. More big names will follow in due course.
Goalkeeping legend Andy Goram is currently a coach at Camby, although his participation has not yet been confirmed.
Details on the Cambuslang Legends taking part are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets are now on sale priced at £10, with hospitality and sponsorship packages also available. Further details can be obtained by contacting cambuslangrangers@gmail.com.
You can purchase tickets for the match here. Kick-off is 2pm.
