Ally McCoist has been recognised for his puditry skills after the Rangers legend was shortlisted for a gong at the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards.
East Kilbride's famous son is a regular feature across the British game with a morning show with Alan Brazil and Laura Woods on TalkSport Radio, on top of various co-commentary commitments for the likes of Sky Sports, BT Spor, Premier Sports and Amazon Prime.
His enthusiasm for the job and story-telling have seen him gain fans from all corners of the UK and his work has now seen the former Rangers and Scotland striker nominated for 'Best Sports Pundit' at the upcoming British Sports Journalism Awards.
McCoist will be up against the likes of former Manchester United star Gary Neville, Arsenal hero Ian Wright, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards, Chelsea Women's manager Emma Hayes OBE and ex-England women's international Karen Carney. Cricket hero Nassar Hussain, legendary horse racing jockey Ruby Walsh, boxing columnist Steve Bunce and ex-Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan also make up the shortlist.
The winner will be revealed at the Sports Journalists' Association British Sports Journalism Awards on Monday, March 7 and fans of the nominees can cast their vote here.
Those shortlisted are aiming to follow in the footsteps of 2021 winner Michael Holding, the Jamaican former cricketer.
