Ally McCoist has slammed Hearts’ Cameron Devlin for an "absolutely crazy" tackle on Wales star Rabbi Matondo.
In a disastrous first half for Hearts which saw them already 2-0 down, Devlin saw red for a stamp on Matondo's ankle in an act of pure frustration.
A brace from Antonio Colak put Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side in complete control and a reckless tackle from Devlin put the tin hat on it for the home side.
The challenge prompted a furious reaction from the Rangers bench, including their Dutch manager
“Oh dear me, what is he thinking about?” said McCoist on commentary duties for Sky Sports. “It’s right down on his right ankle here.
“Oh dear, leaves the referee absolutely no option at all, nonsense.
“I did mention before he’s a fiery character, when you’re 2-0 down [Hearts manager] Robby Neilson must be saying what’s going on here, crazy absolutely crazy.”
Matondo was able to carry on and Rangers won the game 4-0.
