The 1987/88 season is one that isn’t fondly remembered by Rangers fans.
It was the second season of the Graeme Souness revolution but they failed to retain the title they had won in his first campaign at Ibrox.
Instead, it was Celtic who won a centenary year double while Rangers had to settle for third place behind Hearts and a shock Scottish Cup exit to Dunfermline.
Souness did lift the League Cup but it wasn’t what was expected that season after his whirlwind debut dug-out year in Govan.
However, one thing from that season did delight the fans and that was the classic red and white change kit.
And the current supporters could be treated to a throwback to that vintage top if the latest leaked photos to emerge on social media are anything to go by.
It’s that time of year when new kit designs are appearing online and this latest one has got fans talking.
It comes just 24 hours after next season’s orange third kit was made available to purchase.
And, just as with the third kit, the Sportemon Go logo again appears on the back despite the NFT company going bust last week.
