Rangers latest Morgan Whittaker bid rejected as saga over winger chase continues

Rangers are still suffering frustration in their attempts to bring Morgan Whittaker to Ibrox.

Michael Beale has made no secret of the fact that he want to snap up the talented winger who is in the final six months of this contract with Swansea City and has made it know that he wants to move to Rangers.

However, the Swans are proving difficult to deal with. It's being reported in Wales that the latest offer from the Light Blues - around £2million - has been booted out and as the deadline approaches Rangers now have some work to do to get this deal over the line.

With the 22-year-old yet to make an appearance for the Swans this season, he is still eligible to make a move away from South Wales between now and the end of the month with Russell Martin’s men not in action until next month.

The attacker is unable to play for more than two clubs this season and with the player already plying his trade for Plymouth Argyle during the first half of the campaign, any hopes of him making the switch to Ibrox would have been dashed if he had played for the Welsh outfit this month.

Rangers, who signed Todd Cantwell this week, are also chasing Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin - but again an accord has yet to be struck with Standard Liege. Beale confirmed that he has not made a pre-contract with Raskin - or any other player. He said: "It's not true we have signed a pre-contract with anyone.

"We are busy working in the background. There's a lot of noise around one or two. With Todd it took time because we wanted the discussions to make sure it was the right time for everyone.”
