Barry Ferguson has assessed Rangers' January transfer success by admitting he thought the window would pan out exactly the way it did for the Light Blues - though he told fans to bide their time and wait for a much better summer of activity.
Todd Cantwell arrived just under a week ago ahead of the transfer window slamming shut, whilst Nicolas Raskin signed on transfer deadline day in a deal that had been in the making for the best part of half a year with the Belgian being a long-term target for recently-departed boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst and one who had been on the radar of the new Ibrox boss for some time.
Whilst Beale may have wanted more signings through the door, it was slightly unrealistic to expect him to rip the squad up halfway through the season, and the additions of Cantwell and Raskin with no big departures will give the Gers boss more firepower. And Barry Ferguson believes he will be happy with the way his transfer window panned out, urging fans to wait until the summer to judge the board over their recruitment.

He told Go Radio: "I kind of thought it may have panned out like that if I'm honest, if you heard [Michael] Beale speaking, he wasn't going to get rushed into signing players just for the sake of it. He definitely wanted Cantwell and Raskin, they were the two that he was clearly after.
"I think he would have probably liked one or two other players, but obviously they weren't available. I think the summer is going to be the big rebuild, if I'm honest. I always said I thought it was maybe two or three players Rangers could maybe bring in in January.
"They brought two players in that is certainly going to strength the midfield area. We will need to take it as that and the Rangers fans should look forward to the summer and I think that's where the big rebuild will happen."
