Rangers injury update on Matondo, Morelos and Roofe as attackers ruled out of Livingston opener

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is hopeful that Alfredo Morelos will be with his squad very soon - but Kemar Roofe and Rabbi Matondo are out of action this weekend.

The Colombian has returned to training and is named in their Champions League third round qualifier squad for matches against Union St Gilloise next month and his manager hopes to have him shortly. Fellow attackers Kemar Roofe and Rabbi Matondo will miss their Premiership opener away at Livingston on lunchtime on Saturday in a blow for van Bronckhorst's attacking arsenal. Rangers youngster Alex Lowry is back in training though after an injury.

Speaking ahead of the trip to West Lothian, the Ibrox boss said: "Roofe is not in the squad for tomorrow, Lowry is back training to pick up fitness. Matondo will miss out tomorrow. Kemar is back on the pitch now so hopefully back involved in the coming weeks.
