Giovanni van Bronckhorst has provided a fresh update on Connor Goldson and he admitted to being hopeful of seeing Connor Goldson back in action following the World Cup.
The ever-present key defender hobbled off in the Champions League thumping by Liverpool at Ibrox in a major blow to the Light Blues. The score was level at 1-1 when he departed with the Reds running riot in the second period with six goals, including a superb six minute hat-trick from Mo Salah, to run out 7-1 winners at Ibrox. Leon King and Ben Davies have since partnered each other with James Sands handed a run out in the Premier Sports Cup win over Dundee.
Goldson has been a mainstay since his arrival at the club under Steven Gerrard - who was sacked by Aston Villa last night - and the Dutchman will be desperate to have him back in the fold as soon as time allows. Ianis Hagi is also in the final stretch of his recovery from a long-term absence while Tom Lawrence remains sidelined. In an update ahead of the clash with Livingston Van Bronckhorst gave an update on his injured stars while revealing Ridvan Yilmaz is a doubt to face Livingston.

[John] Lundstram is okay, we have done scans and he is fit.
"Ridvan had a knock on his knee and we will assess him for tomorrow, our only fresh doubt. A short-term one if misses out. Ianis [Hagi] is in the final stretch, I am really happy for him as is one of our most creative players.
"Tom [Lawrence] had a fantastic start to the season and we will miss him until his return.
Glen (Kamara) had a problem with his ankle, we are hopeful he will return for the match against Napoli."
