Ally McCoist says he loves football so much he will watch it at any level, including local side East Kilbride in the Lowland League.
But the Rangers legend admits he will probably wear glasses, scarf and a bunnet to try and get some peace!
McCoist, who is a TV and radio commentator and pundit, says he enjoys watching Champions League and Europa League as much as Lowland League, amateur, or his kids' games.
The 59-year-old from East Kilbride is throwing his weight behind a National Lottery initiative designed to get people out to watch their local club, with 100,000 tickets available on a buy-one get-one-free basis for selected games in March and April.
The Highland, Lowland and South of Scotland Leagues join the East of Scotland and West of Scotland Premier Divisions as part of the campaign.
McCoist says he likes to turn up at K-Park to watch Chris Aitken's side, and said: "Grassroots football is more important now than it has ever been.
"There's nobody who loves watching Manchester City v Bayern Munich, or Liverpool v Chelsea in the Champions League - elite level football - more than I do.
"But at the same time, without grassroots football there is none of that.
"I'll probably go to five or six games at the weekend if I'm not working.
"I'll go to my kids' games, and my kids' pals' games. I'll just go and watch.
"I'm an East Kilbride boy - I'll go up to K-Park to watch East Kilbride in the Lowland League, while at the same time being able to go and watch Rangers - I love it all.
"If there's a game on anywhere I'll stop the car if I'm driving past, and go and watch a bit of it.
"There are the occasional double-takes, people wondering 'is that McCoist?' - but the glasses and bunnet usually let me get away with it!"
The National Lottery put £12.5million into keeping local clubs alive during the pandemic, and McCoist said: "I don't have any doubt the £12.5m they've spent so far saved a lot of football clubs.
"Football has always been the people's sport in this country. Most of these clubs are woven into the fabric of their towns, cities and villages.
"It's vital to preserve them. They're the heartbeat of their communities."
