A little over two years ago, Rangers picked up the unwanted tag of being the worst-ever Champions League team in the group stage.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side suffered defeat in each of their six matches against Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli.
They scored just once, which left them with a dreadful minus-20 goal difference.
However, the horror record could be set to be surpassed by either of Celtic's recent UCL rivals.
That's because with one game of the new-look league phases remaining, both Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys sit rooted to the bottom of the table without a single point.
The latter - who lost 1-0 at Celtic Park last Wednesday night - currently have a -20 goal difference.
The 36th-placed side play Red Star Belgrade on home soil, where anything less than a draw would see them become the worst side at this stage of the continental tournament.

Slovan Bratislava are also on course for eight straight defeats. They face the unenviable task of taking on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
They currently have a goal difference of -18, so a doing in Germany could alternatively see the Slovakian side - who Celtic beat 5-1 in September - take on the unwanted tag.
The only caveat to make clear is that Rangers' record was broken when teams played in the old group stage format, where just six matches were played.
Now, in the league phase, teams play eight times.
