Rangers favourite Shota Arveladze is reportedly not in line to become the new manager of Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia - just days after Neil Lennon's shock exit.
The former Celtic manager had led the club to Cypriot Cup glory and then the Europa League group stages with Real Sociedad, FC Sherriff and Manchester United - who he was agonisingly close to obtaining a 0-0 draw against last week. But it's not been enough to save him and Lennon has been given the axe after four defeats in seven league games at the start of this season, his spell lasting just eight months.
His replacement may have been coming in the form of an ex-rival from Ibrox with Arveladze, according to reports, which suggested the former striker was closing in on his first gig since leaving Hull City last month. But fresh claims have forecast that this is not the case for Rangers' former player

42-year old Belgian Yannick Ferrera is now the man that is said to be close to an appointment and he is out of work after a three-year spell in Saudi Arabia with Al Fateh Sports Club.
A statement on Lennon's exit from Omonia read: "Mr. Lennon has written his name in the history of OMONIA and deserves the respect and recognition of all of us.
"We sincerely thank Mr. Lennon for his contribution and wish him every success in his future career."
