Rangers hero Kris Boyd looks away as Celtic title party begins

Kris Boyd was on duty for Sky Sports last night as Celtic defeated former club Kilmarnock to lift the Scottish Premiership title.

But it seems the Rangers hero couldn't bear to watch as the title party got underway on the Rugby Park pitch.

The former Gers and Killie striker was not involved in Sky's post-match interviews on the field, with Eilidh Barbour, Neil Lennon and James McFadden taking care of those responsibilities.

Instead, the ex-Scotland international remained in Sky's studio at the back of the Frank Beattie Stand inside the stadium while Celtic's players celebrated together and with the packed-out away end at Killie.

In a video widely shared online, Boyd could be seen with his back to the goings-on at his old stomping ground - where he scored a decent portion of his 119 goals for the club - as he scrolled through his phone.

The user who shared the footage on social media site X captioned his clip: "How can you see looking through those tears?"

The video was filmed from within the main stand at Rugby Park, with hundreds of Celtic supporters infiltrating the home end at Killie to get a glimpse of their side's 54th title triumph.

The party didn't end there for Celtic's players or fans, though.

Once the players went up the tunnel to party in the away dressing room, supporters headed back up the M77 to congregate on Celtic Way outside Parkhead in their thousands.

Fans could be seen gathered with pyro and fireworks, as songs were belted out in some jubilant scenes as they rejoiced after seeing off Rangers' title challenge this season.

Brendan Rodgers told the crowd: "I stood here just under a year ago and there was about 200 people and I said I'd see you back here in May.

"We have a few more than 200 here and this evening is about the players and the staff.

"The honesty of this group, everybody was writing them off, but they kept working and were honest to the game and to the club and tonight they get the reward.

"So tonight, thank you to the players."
