Rangers hero Jimmy Bell funeral details confirmed after Ibrox legend's passing

Rangers have announced the funeral details for legendary kitman Jimmy Bell.

The man from Wishaw was a constant presence at Ibrox over the last 30 years and has earned cult status amongst the club's supporters.

He was there during the nine-in-a-row era and the UEFA Cup final run in 2008, alongside the harder times of Rangers' administration in 2012.

Current and former employees at the Light Blues have been paying tribute to Bell over the last few weeks after he died before their Europa League semi-final second leg win over RB Leipzig.

Captain James Tavernier dedicated the victory that booked passage to this Wednesday's final to both him and iconic Rangers boss, Lanark's Walter Smith. He died last year.

Funeral arrangements for the beloved kitman have now been announced.

A Rangers statement reads: "Rangers can confirm funeral details for our much-loved kitman, Jimmy Bell.

"A private service will take place at Wellington Church, Glasgow at 10am on Friday.

"The funeral cortege will then pass Ibrox at 12noon, with supporters invited there to pay their final respects."
