Barry Ferguson has called on Ryan Kent to show a 'bit of commitment' as his Rangers contract continues to run down.
The Light Blues star is in the final 12 months of his current agreement, with no fresh terms struck as of yet. It would mean should he remain at the club beyond the summer window and not pen a new deal that he could talk to other clubs come January about a pre-contract. Key team-mate Alfredo Morelos is in the same boat as the former Liverpool man.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst rested the winger for the domestic win over St Johnstone last weekend before handing him a key role in his side for the Champions League showdown with PSV. The play-off tie at Ibrox ended in a 2-2 draw with the duo going head to head in the Netherlands next week with the huge prize of dining at Europe's top table and the massive cash boost that comes with it on the line. Rangers hero Ferguson is a big fan of Kent and reckons when he is at his best he's similar to Celtic star Jota in terms of being a match winner.

The former Ibrox captain says it is vital in order to challenge and win trophies that they keep players like Kent at the club, but Fergie wants to see more goals and a better end product.
Speaking on Go Radio, he said: "Kent was good (vs PSV). I am a big fan of Ryan Kent. I think when he is on it, he is a match winner, similar to Jota.
"But his contract is up at the end of the season. I need to see a bit of commitment.
"Whether they are waiting until this game in Eindhoven to see if Rangers do progress or not (I don't know), but if Rangers do win and want to challenge for things they have to keep a player like Kent. I'm just greedy.
"I want a better end product. There is no doubt he has got fantastic ability, but I am looking to see more goals. As a wide player I would be looking at 10-12 goals a season. He is a player who I think highly of.
"It'll be interesting to see if Kent, and Morelos, commit themselves. You are getting down to the nitty gritty now. I want to see commitment. If you lose two players of that quality it's a big hit for Rangers."
