Rangers hero fears another Euro thrashing as he's set to watch Napoli game 'from behind the couch'

Derek Ferguson says that he might be watching Rangers take to their next Champions League match with his furniture for support.

The former Light Blues midfielder watched in horror as his beloved club collapsed in the second half during their Group A fixture versus Liverpool. They shipped six goals in a 7-1 rout and take on Napoli next in Italy, with their last 16 hopes already over.

Leading Serie A, the Naples outfit have put 10 goals over two games past Ajax, plus four versus Liverpool on home soil alongside their 3-0 win away at Ibrox earlier in the competition. Ferguson, speaking on Sportsound, has hinted that he'll be watching Rangers through his fingers in case another thrashing beckons. He said: "Rangers shouldn't be being beat 7-1 at home even if it's a Champions League game. There's a way to get beat and that's fighting and scratching and with a little bit of respect.

"We were all over the place. That next game is a scary thought on the form of last night and that second half performance.

"I look at Borna Barisic and James Tavernier. Offensively they offer you something but defensively they're found wanting.

"There were top drawer finishes but defensively we have got to be better. Going to Napoli, they just go through the gears. I think I'll be watching that game from behind the couch to be honest."
