Barry Ferguson has identified the FOUR key areas Rangers need to address in the January transfer window.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been under increased pressure following a poor run of performances and results before the World Cup shutdown. Dropped points against Livingston and St Mirren coupled up with defeat to St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park has left them trailing Ange Postecoglou and Celtic at the top by nine points.
The Champions League group stage campaign was also one to forget with six defeats from six and the unwanted 'worst ever' tag after ending the section with a -20 goal difference. Injuries, particularly at the back, have been an issue for the Light Blues with ever-present Connor Goldson currently out alongside long-term absentees John Souttar and Filip Helander. Influential playmaker Tom Lawrence has also been ruled out for months in a major blow to the Ibrox side.

The winter transfer window is just around the corner and former Rangers skipper Ferguson reckons there needs to be a lot of activity in Govan. He's picked out the key areas needing strengthened before the window slams shut.
Speaking on Go Radio, he said: "Wide areas, for me. Up top, looks like [Alfredo] Morelos isn't going to be staying so you need to get another centre-forward in.
"[Antonio] Colak's done really well getting 14 goals, Kemar Roofe is another player I really like but you don't see him on the pitch so I would certainly look through the middle.
"Both right and left sides. Probably another midfielder - a real dominant guy in there who can dictate a game.
"Those are the kind of areas I would look to go and strengthen."
