Rangers hero Ally McCoist reveals surprise new project

Rangers hero Ally McCoist isn't afraid to take on a new project.

From TV punditry, commentary, radio hosting or football management, the former Ibrox goalscorer has done it all since hanging up his boots 23 years ago.

But now the 61-year-old has decided to write a book - and it's not about Rangers as many would've expected.

McCoist shared the exciting announcement about his latest venture on social media .

He will be releasing a book titled "Dear Scotland," set to be published by Hodder on October 24.

However, this isn't just an ordinary autobiography; it details his experiences while travelling on the road with the Tartan Army.

McCoist wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "It wasn’t the best of summers for us Scots on the football field but as the Tartan Army will tell you “No Scotland, No Party” and I’m delighted to celebrate my new book which comes out this Autumn.

“Dear Scotland is my love letter to the national team and the Scottish game, paying homage to all that our small but fierce nation has given to football.

“My book will take you from my early days falling in love with the iconic blue jersey and all those legends who wore it; through the highs, the (sometimes heroic but sometimes less heroic) lows and all the frankly hilarious things in between that came with representing the country that I love.

“I can’t wait for you all to share my memories…

”Dear Scotland will be published by @HodderBooks on 24th October in hardback, eBook and audio, and is available to pre-order now. www.ink.to/dearscotland.”

The former Rangers striker was capped 61 times by the Scotland national team, scoring 19 goals in the process.

Fans commented on McCoist post reacting to the book launch, with a first saying: "Superb! Please do the audio yourself."

Scottish singer, Amy MacDonald, replied: "Brilliant."

While another eager fan said: "Hope you do some book signings."
