Rangers Glasgow Cup clash will be tough task for Queen's Park, admits Scott Williamson

Scott Williamson admits Queen's Park will need to be ruthless if they are to stun Rangers Colts in the City of Glasgow Cup final tonight.

The Fernhill forward joined the Spiders on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Cambuslang Rangers, where he scored 50 goals in the West of Scotland League this season.

Williamson was loaned back to Camby at the start of the year after signing his contract, but has been involved in Glasgow Cup games for Spiders ahead of next season.

He featured when Rangers beat Queen's Park 2-0 in the group stages of the competition in March and knows if they are to lift the silverware at Broadwood tonight, they will need to take their chances against a talented Gers side that could includes the likes of fellow Lanarkshire player Alex Lowry, who bagged an assist the last time the teams met.

Williamson, who scored and set up another in his first Queen's Park outing against Celtic Colts in February, said: "It's a big game and hopefully I will be involved in the game.

"It will be a good match and a hard one for us because they are a good side.

Scott Williamson (Cambuslang Rangers)

"We played them a couple of months ago and they beat us 2-0.

"They showed how good a side they can be but I just hope we bounce back from that and play better this time.

"I don't think we played badly last time, but we'll just need to be more clinical this time when we get our chances.

"It's been a good experience for me so far [in the Glasgow Cup] and my family will be there on Monday, so hopefully it works out well for us."

The clash is an 8.15pm kick-off at Broadwood Stadium and gates open at 7:30pm.

Tickets are priced at £7 for adults and £3 for concessions, while a live stream of the match is also being shown here.
