Anthony Ralston says Celtic are trying to remove the 'craziness' of games with Rangers as they close in on the Premiership title.
The Hoops face their Glasgow rivals for the fifth and final time this season on Sunday in a match that will all but certainly decide where this year's top spot goes to.
A victory for Celtic would put them nine points clear with three games to go, whereas a Light Blues victory throws them back into the mix, albeit still needing to make up a three-point gap.
Ange Postecoglou's side won the last league meeting between the pair but Rangers got revenge and knocked the Parkhead side out of the Scottish Cup on Easter Sunday.
These games tend to be fiery and Ralston knows it'll likely be the case again over the weekend.
Despite all that is riding on it, the Bellshill-born star - who attended Airdrie's All Saints primary school - say the only focus they have is on their performance.
He said: "It is a derby game and they are crazy. In these games, there are things that happen and we are aware of that.
"We all have experienced it through the course of this season and we know it is a game that both sides want to win.
"But we take all the craziness out of it and we focus on ourselves as a team, we focus on our football and we don't let the noise of it all get involved.
"We focus on ourselves and we focus on the three points and go out and play our football. We know it's a big game but our mentality as a team is we don't treat it different from any other game.
"We have prepared well and we have been training well and we are all in a good place as a team and we are looking forward to it."
