Rangers fans unveil spectacular 'Barcelona Bears' inspired display at Ibrox

Rangers fans unveil spectacular 'Barcelona Bears' inspired display at Ibrox

RANGERS fans unveiled a spectacular Barcelona Bears inspired banner display ahead of kick-off against RB Leipzig.

Supporters in the Broomloan Road Stand held aloft red, white and blue cards to transform the stand into a sea of colour.

A banner was then unfurled along the front of the stand urging Rangers' current crop of stars to follow in the footsteps of the 1972 European Cup-winning side nicknamed the Barcelona Bears.

The banner read: "The deeds of those who were before us are our inspiration".

A huge display was then rolled down from the top of the stands to the bottom depicting match information from the historic triumph over Dynamo Moscow in 1972.

It also featured a sketch of a bullfighter above the details from the Cup final - which was based on a poster advertising the match at the time.

Rangers triumphed 3-2 in the Cup final back in 1972 with Colin Stein scoring the opener before a brace from Willie Johnston.

The final was played at Barcelona's Nou Camp, and Rangers will be hoping to make another European final in Spain with victory over RB Leipzig tonight.

Rangers must overcome a one-goal deficit against RB Leipzig to seal a spot in the Europa League final in Seville later this month.

Angelino scored the only goal in the first-leg in Germany last week to claim an advantage for his side ahead of their trip to Glasgow tonight.
