Fans say Ally McCoist "must be protected at all costs" after Rangers' Europa League Final loss to Frankfurt last night.
Following a tense penalty shoot out which ended in a 5-4 victory for Frankfurt, video of a 'gutted' Ally went viral as he, like many other Rangers followers, shed a tear at the result.
Twitter was set alight with fans desperate to make sure Ally was feeling okay after seeing his distress at the defeat of his beloved team.
In the lead up to the big game, footballer turned broadcaster Ally had been jovial, and was even seen dancing away at the stadium.
However, the former Rangers manager had to turn away from the camera at one point after becoming distressed by the result.
Football fans from other teams joined Gers supporters on Twitter to commiserate with the commentator, with one saying: "Someone console Ally McCoist, protect him at all costs. If he loses his chirpiness we’re all knackered."
Others piled on with one concerned onlooker adding:"Has anyone checked in on Ally McCoist?"
Whilst others suggested he'd need a stiff drink, people admitted they'd never seen him act like that before on telly.
One added: "I must say I did feel for Ally McCoist last night. #RangersFC."
And as someone quipped: "Has Ally McCoist got that crying filter on or is he just crying," another added: "Glad Frankfurt won yesterday. Were the better team over 120 minutes. Gutted for Ally McCoist though. Massive for Rangers to even get to the final, especially given where they were just a few years ago! Definitely the best club in Scotland. Just hope Hearts beat them on Saturday!"
Others revelled in Ally's misery, with one saying: "Can we get a close up of Ally McCoist and his tears , please @btsportfootball."
And a second added:"Ally McCoist tears flowing is superb."
