Rangers fans pray Michael Beale jinx is real and urge him to test it with ANOTHER Celtic claim – Hotline

Aberdeen's defeat at Darvel continues to send shockwaves through Scottish football. Jeez, it’s even knocked Old Firm bickering off the Hotline - THAT’S how big it is.

But what comes next for Jim Goodwin? We will soon find out. Ian MacLeod emailed: “At the current rate of decline Aberdeen will soon be raising their game against Berwick Rangers rather than Glasgow Rangers.” Joe Robertson, Falkirk , added: “I’d like to thank Aberdeen, for taking the honour of having the worst result in Scottish football history - taking it from Rangers, which we held for 56 years. Thank you!”

Eddie McKnight, Wishaw , said: “Rangers’ defeat in Berwick 56 years ago has finally been knocked off the top spot for all time Scottish Cup shocks. The SFA’s decision to allow Junior teams to compete in the Scottish Cup inevitably would lead to shock results, but this one involving the supposed 'third force' is off the scale.” Neil Renton, Edinburgh, said: “The only reason I can think that Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin hasn’t been sacked by the club is he always takes in cakes on a Friday. There’s nothing else that explains the most humiliating result in their history and the fact he’s still in a job.”

Iain Alan, Linlithgow , emailed: ‘I’m getting fed up with the excuses after yet another embarrassing result. Leaving Miovski and Shinnie on the bench for the Darvel disaster was the last straw. Goodwin can’t pick his nose, never mind put out a decent side. Still no new central defenders which this team is crying out for, is he the only person in the world that can’t see this? Sorry Jim but time to go.”

John Steel, said : “I want to congratulate Darvel on putting Aberdeen out of the Scottish Cup. And if they can beat Falkirk, and get another home draw, I could see them beating other big teams. They just need to play the same way, which will be very hard considering most have real jobs during the day and night. That makes the result over Aberdeen even more extraordinary.”

Cameron Hall, Edinburgh , said: “Has anyone asked Michael Beale if he still thinks Aberdeen are the third best team in Scotland?”

On a similar theme, Derek Morris, Stirling, emailed: “There’s a lot of Rangers fans hoping that Michael Beale says that Celtic are the best team in Scotland.”

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou (R) and Rangers manager Michael Beale (SNS Group)

George Wilson, West Sussex, emailed: “Anti Rangers nonsense all week from Tam Williamson. First of all he said Michael Beale wouldn’t see the season out at Rangers which is of course garbage. Even if Rangers win nothing this season Beale will be allowed to start afresh next season.with his own players. Now he is saying Darvel beat Aberdeen in 90 minutes but it took Rangers extra time to do it. Not really sure what point he is trying to make there because there isn’t one. Aberdeen only ever turn up against Rangers and it also might be worth remembering Celtic only beat Aberdeen in the last minute also by one nil.”

Finally, Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus emailed: “Are Millwall having a laugh by offering £1m for Kevin Nisbet? The guy’s worth at least £3m plus. These English clubs think the Scots are daft, they’ll soon find out they’re not.”
