Rangers fans in Seville travel chaos as two charted flights on game day delayed and moved airport

Hundreds of Rangers fans were told their Seville flights had been 'cancelled' on the morning they were due to fly out for the Europa League Final - before airlines reinstated the journeys amidst travel chaos.

Glasgow Airport tonight announced that the 05.00 and 07.15 charter flights to the Andalusian capital on Wednesday morning would not take off.

Football fans travelling on Carpatair flight V33512 were told the flight would take off from Glasgow Prestwick at a later scheduled time of 7:15am.

Yesterday, many fans faced a 10-hour delay to the departure of a charter flight to Jerez.

It eventually left at 8.30pm last night.

It is understood a technical fault and cancelled airline slots caused the delays.

Glasgow Airport confirmed the flight changes and both aircrafts have since departed.
