Rangers fans have Seville saviour in form of Spain-based Man City supporter

A Manchester City supporter has become the saviour of Rangers fans - by organising buses for hundreds of die-hards heading to Spain for the Europa League final.

And one Light Blues fan has even chartered a plane to take her and other supporters to Spain as the Scramble to Seville continues.

David Redshaw, who is originally from Salford, has lived in Spain for the last 36 years and works at Bar Ibensa, in the popular tourist destination of Benalmádena.

The football fanatic, 62, regularly runs buses from Benalmádena to Malaga for British holidaymakers wishing to take in matches.

He was inundated with requests from Gers fans to organise transport to the match after John Lundstram's goal sealed an aggregate win over RB Leipzig at Ibrox on Thursday night.

And he revealed he has organised nine buses to take Rangers fans on the 140-mile trip from the pub he works at to the Stadion Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Around 500 Rangers supporters will get to Seville for next Wednesday night's showpiece tie with Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to the Englishman.

David told the Daily Record : "I’ve had the buses confirmed. They will be leaving from Bar Ibensa in Benalmádena at 10.30am on the day of the match and returning after it.

"The price is 30 pounds or 35 euros. The response has been unreal - we filled the first two buses in just 20 minutes.

"At first we had two, then we got up to five, now we have nine, but they are becoming harder to get as people try to hire them.

"There are also no minibuses available as they have all gone. We've now sold out nine buses and are trying to get more."

David, who has been running buses to the Malaga games for over 20 years, has had to draft buses in from a city over 120 miles away to help fans make the 2hr 20min trip to Seville.

He added: "We've even had to get two from Jaén, which is 200km away, and the price is going up all the time as the bus companies have now realised the demand for them.

"One bar called Black Jack’s has filled six buses and they have 300 on a waiting list."

Meanwhile, a Rangers fan chartered her own flight to make the game.

Twitter user @lauren9866 Tweeted: "Reckon we could get another 185 people to come on a chartered fight Glasgow to Seville 18th morning and return 19th afternoon to Glasgow? Would be £574."

She was then swamped with requests from fans wanting a seat on the plane, revealing she had set about securing the flight with charter airline firm Lunajets.

On Monday, she revealed the flight was confirmed, leaving Scotland at 11am on Tuesday 17th and departing from Seville at 12pm Spanish time the day after game.

Yesterday, she revealed she was due to receive the flight number and check-in info, was able to choose the on board announcement, and has to fill in the flight manifest by Friday.

And she said fans would be served with sandwiches and hot and cold soft drinks on the flight, with an option to add 350 beers to the charter for £1,000.
