Rangers fans have reacted to Erling Haaland being ruled out for their Europa League tie - by insisting the 21-year-old is too scared to face Calvin Bassey.
The Borussia Dortmund striker hasn't travelled with the squad for the second leg of the play-off tie, a huge blow to his side after they lost the first meeting 4-2.
Haaland has 23 goals in just 20 games this season but has failed to recover from an adductor injury and has been left at home in Germany.
Not having to face one of the world's deadliest strikers is a big boost for Gio van Bronckhorst 's side, but some Rangers fans feel there may be more to it.
Indeed, many of the Ibrox faithful are adamant the Dortmund man was simply too scared to face off against Bassey.
The defender's name trended on Twitter as supporters all said the same thing.
One said: "S*** it from Bassey."
Another remarked: "Calvin Bassey owns Erling Haaland confirmed."
A Rangers supporter insisted: "Knew he would be facing Bassey and s*** it."
Another chimed in: "Haaland does not fancy it at all against Goldson and Bassey/Balogun does he?"
Strongman Tom Stoltman joked: "Wee Haaland no wanting in Bassey's back pocket."
Another fan wrote: "Scared of Bassey, facts."
Continuing the theme a user said "Bassey 1- 0 Haaland" and another insisted the Norway star is "terrified of Calvin Bassey".
And among a deluge of such comments a Gers fan maintained: "Bassey has scared him off."
