Rangers fan missing in Seville without cash or phone as frantic family beg for help

Rangers fans in Seville are being asked to help find a fellow supporter who has gone missing after vanishing from the fan zone.

Gordon Smith has failed to make contact with his worried family back home in Scotland and is without any cash or his mobile phone.

The 42-year-old, from Renfrew, became separated from his brother Craig, 23, on Wednesday night when he went to use the toilet after the match.

While searching for his sibling, bags containing the two men’s belongings are believed to have been stolen in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Sister Danielle Ashleigh Smith, from Paisley, has issued a desperate plea for help to find her missing brother, who may also be without his passport.

She said: “Gordon was least seen after the match. He went to a toilet at the fan zone and my brother Craig had his things.

“Gordon never returned back to where Craig was waiting for him and Craig has been looking ever since.

“Their belongings were stolen at some point in the early hours from Craig. He’s sure that Gordon’s passport was amongst this but his phone and money definitely were.”

Anyone who finds Gordon or his belongings is being asked to contact his sister Danielle (Family handout)

She added: “Gordon was meant to be staying at some farmhouse but I don’t know the details of this.

“But I reckon if he had made his way back there he’d have contacted someone at home to let us help him get home.

“He wasn’t going to be flying home until tomorrow but we’re just so concerned that he’s out there with no contact at all.

“Craig is now with family members and is getting help to get home. Nobody has had contact from Gordon. He is alone and has nothing with him.

“If anyone happens to bump into Gordon, please let me know and get in touch so I can give him my phone number.”

The worried family are in the process of contacting police and the British Embassy but hope the power of social media will help reunite them with their loved one.
