Rangers fan 'kept alive' by hero doctor after suffering heart attack on Seville flight

A Rangers supporting doctor saved an elderly fan's life when he had a heart attack on a flight to Seville.

The 70-year-old survived the terrifying incident when the medic leapt into action aboard the plane to the Andalusian city.

The pensioner was travelling on a Corporate Travel Management (CMT) day trip service to see his side take Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final tonight, the Daily Record reports.

Thankfully the doctor travelling on the same flight was able to keep him stable until the plan landed.

A club insider said: "The man was kept conscious and he is okay, he's still alive.

"But obviously he's had a heart attack so it's very serious and was a big scare for him and his family.

"Luckily there was another fan on the flight who's a doctor.

"He rushed to help him and looked after him on the flight.

"It's the best outcome everyone could have hoped for in the circumstances.

"Hopefully he is well enough to still catch the game and gets the result we are all hoping for."

Meanwhile the five German fans who were arrested for attacking Rangers fans are due to be kept behind bars until after tonight's show piece tie.

The source added: "These were Frankfurt casuals attacking normal Rangers fans, just random punters.

"It was a spontaneous attack on fans they saw in the city, it wasn't a planned ambush of another hooligan group."

CTM was contacted for comment.
