Rangers F.C. vs Tottenham Stats Point To Plenty Of Goals

Rangers F.C. vs Tottenham in the Europa League takes place on Thursday night and we have taken a look at some of the key stats going into the Battle of Britain tie.

Rangers F.C. vs Tottenham Stats Ahead Of Thursday’s 8pm Clash

The two sides will meet for the first time in 62 years when Ange Postecoglou’s side travel to Ibrox Stadium on Thursday night.

Tottenham’s Australian manager has come under some pressure after recent losses to Chelsea, Bournemouth and Ipswich as well as draws with Fulham and Roma.

The Europa League gives them a chance to return to winning ways as they play a Rangers side who sit one place above them in the table.

Rangers are currently in the last automatic qualification spot for the last-16, with Tottenham currently set for the play-offs in ninth.

So Thursday’s result could have a big part to play in who has to go through the play-offs to reach the last-16.

One similarity these two sides have is England legend Paul Gascoigne played for both during his career. To see SportsCasting’s interview with Gazza where he reveals who he wants to win the match, click here.

Tottenham Concede Late Against Roma

After winning their opening three matches without too much issue, Tottenham have failed to win their last two in the Europa League.

They conceded three goals in the opening-half during a 3-2 loss against Galatasaray last month with Victor Osimhen bagging a brace.

Then they threw away the lead twice against Roma, with Mats Hummels scoring in stoppage time to give the Italian side a point.

Tottenham have dropped out of the top-eight because of those two results and with a busy season they will want to avoid having to face play-offs to reach the last-16.

Rangers F.C. vs Tottenham Promises Goals

You can sum up Tottenham’s problems this season by noting that they are second in the Premier League for goals scored, yet are sitting in the bottom half of the table.

In the Europa League meanwhile, four of their five games have seen over 2.5 goals.

Rangers meanwhile have scored nine goals in their last two matches alone.

In the Europa League, they have scored four goals in a match on two occasions and also conceded four in their loss to Lyon.

So it’s safe to expect plenty of goals when these two sides meet on Thursday.
