Rangers have introduced a new decision-making structure that grants CEO Patrick Stewart and the club’s leadership team greater autonomy in day-to-day operations.
The update was shared during Wednesday evening’s fan forum at Edmiston House, where Stewart plus key figures from the Ibrox boardroom addressed supporters on a range of topics.
The club confirmed that a revised internal policy now allows senior executives to make operational decisions without requiring formal board approval, streamlining processes and offering more flexibility. This change was introduced shortly after Stewart’s arrival at Ibrox in December 2024.
However, it was noted that certain matters remain “reserved” for board consideration, ensuring strategic oversight remains intact on major issues.
The move is aimed at increasing efficiency within the structure at Rangers, with Stewart – who spent 18 years in various roles at Manchester United before succeeding James Bisgrove – now empowered to lead with a greater degree of independence.
This is likely just the start of major changes on and off the pitch, as 49ers Enterprises are expected to complete a takeover this summer. Uncertainty still surrounds who will lead the Light Blues next season with former captain Barry Ferguson currently in interim charge.
