Stephen O'Donnell was delighted with Motherwell's draw against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday but says it means nothing unless they beat Ross County at home on Wednesday night.
The right-back was brought back into the team and helped his side fight back from being 2-0 down at the interval to take a point back to ML1.
Kaiyne Woolery set a goal up for Jordan Roberts, and scored the equaliser himself to give Motherwell a huge boost and put a real dent in Rangers' Premiership title hopes.
It's back-to-back league draws for Motherwell, following their 1-1 result against Aberdeen last weekend after a sticky start to 2022, and O'Donnell says they must use those to their advantage.
The Motherwell captain said: "I think it means nothing if we don't go and get a win on Wednesday night.
"I think it's going to be a tough game, one that if we have aspirations of finishing in the top six we have to win.
"If we play like we did in the second half then I think we will, but that's easier said than done.
"We need to approach it with the same attitude as we did in the second half, with courage on the ball, and if we do that then we'll cause any team problems.
"I think any time when you come to either half of the Old Firm they're always going to have your backs against the wall for spells.
"At times we defended OK, but they were just getting a wee bit too much time and too much respect shown, and then when we landed on it we weren't causing them any problems, and that's always going to be an issue.
"They're a good side, they caused us lots of problems and got the goals, which at times maybe mean you won't get the chance to get back in.
"But today we got the two opportunities with Kaiyne creating, making the difference, and we took the chances.
"We were far better in the second half, and on the second half it would probably be a fair result, but from how dominant they were in the first half maybe we managed to nick it."
O'Donnell pointed to the 1-1 draw at Ibrox earlier in the season, with boss Graham Alexander adamant that Fashion Sakala's strike was offside, so reckons Motherwell got the benefit of the 'football Gods' this time around.
He said: "I think the last time we were here we maybe deserved more than a point, and it's good that the football Gods have maybe helped us out a wee bit.
"Hopefully we can get an opportunity to go for a third if we get into the top six.
"I would trade you the one point today for the three on Wednesday, but you see at the end of the season how well you've done, and you end up where you deserve to. The league table doesn't lie.
"Hopefully we can put in good performances and get the results, more importantly, in the next five games that reflect a very positive season for us, and don't have what was a very good start dissipating."
