It's hard to believe that it's nearly three years since Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his Rangers players achieved the unthinkable by reaching the final of the Europa League.
Fast-forward to 2025, if you asked anyone back then, it seems highly unlikely that someone would have successfully predicted Barry Ferguson would be in charge of first-team matters at Ibrox.
Credit goes to the former Alloa, Kelty Hearts and Clyde manager last night though, as he oversaw Rangers' penalty shootout victory over Fenerbahce to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
The Scottish Premiership giants will meet Athletic Club in the last eight of the competition, with the first leg to be played at Ibrox on Thursday, April 10. The return leg will take place in Bilbao a week later.
Rangers pocketed an extra €2.5m in prize money from UEFA by reaching the quarters.

But they don't plan to stop their journey there. The semis and the final are within close range at this stage.
As mapped out with the last draw conducted by UEFA, should Rangers beat Athletic Club, they would take on either Lyon or Manchester United in the semi-finals.
The winner of that game would obviously progress to the final, which will be played at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain - which is exactly where Rangers will play in the next round.
However, if we look at the other side of the draw, Rangers could sensationally face a repeat of the 2022 Europa League final in Seville - where they were left heartbroken after losing on penalties.
Eintracht Frankfurt will play Tottenham in the quarters. The winner of that tie will face either Bodo/Glimt or Lazio.
So, while there is still plenty of football left to be played between now and Wednesday, May 21, there is the potential for Rangers to come up against their old foe in similar circumstances.
