RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has revealed talks with Ibrox stars in the final year of their contract are ongoing.
The Ibrox manager said over the summer that he was keen to tie down key players on extended terms with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent into the last 12 months of their respective deals.
And while there is no concrete news of fresh terms being agreed, Van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports that discussions are continuing.
The Rangers boss explained: "They’re still ongoing. No news yet in developments so we just have to wait and see if it’s eventually coming to new contracts."
The update comes after captain James Tavernier committed his future to the club with a new contract earlier this week.
Van Bronckhorst has made seven signings over the summer with Ben Davies, Rivan Yilmaz, Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, John Souttar and Malik Tillman all checking in at Ibrox.
But as it stands there is nothing ongoing in the transfer window for the Ibrox club but Van Bronckhorst insisted he's remaining prepared as he predicted a "crazy" finale to the summer window.
He added: "It's the transfer window, so you're never sure but we have to be prepared.
"Especially when it comes to the latter stages of the window because crazy things will happen. I've seen that everywhere over the last windows and it's important to be prepared.
"But so far, nothing is happening on ins and outs."
