Rangers have confirmed they will play Celtic in a first ever international Old Firm fixture, which will take place in Australia.
It emerged from Down Under yesterday that the fierce rivals were to face off some 10,000 miles from Glasgow in November.
The Hoops later confirmed that they would be heading back to Ange Postecoglou's homeland, but made no mention of taking on their rivals while there.
However, it's since been announced that Rangers will join Celtic in the four-team tournament, alongside Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC in November.
Domestic action will take a backseat with the 2022 FIFA World Cup to take place in Qatar in the winter.
But both Rangers and Celtic will take advantage of the break, while ensuring those players not on international duty at the time stay match fit.
An Ibrox statement said: "Rangers will return to Australia this November with the club delighted to have accepted an invitation to the inaugural Sydney Super Cup, which will include the first ever international Old Firm fixture.
"With domestic action taking an extended break for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Light Blues will travel Down Under for two hugely exciting matches in front of what is sure to be an outstanding Rangers support of both locals and those travelling from further afield.
"Gers kick-off with a clash against Western Sydney Wanderers on Wednesday, November 16.
"Then, on Sunday 20 November, they will take part in the first Old Firm match to take place outside of Glasgow, with Celtic the opposition."
