What's even better than watching your football team? Travelling to beautiful cities to watch your football team. And Rangers fans are in for a treat this season.
It's been a decade since Rangers were last in the Champions League but it seems it's going to be worth the wait. Thursday's draw put them right back in with Europe's elite as last season's finalists and Premier League runners-up Liverpool will be coming to town. They beat PSV to get this far but have another Dutch opponent in Ajax to take on, while Serie A big-hitters Napoli also lie in wait for Gio van Bronckhorst and his team.
The fixtures might not be out yet but the draw being finalised means fans can start to plan their European travels once again. And Record Sport have you covered for everything you need to know before making your way to Amsterdam, Merseyside and Naples.
Cheapest and fastest flights?
Amsterdam
You can fly direct from Glasgow to Amsterdam without too much trouble. using either KLM or EasyJet. A 1hr 35min flight there on a Tuesday, and the same back on a Thursday will set you back just £135 for the return trip.
If you really fancy saving some cash, you can stop off in Dublin. You can get a 3hr30min flight that way with a direct flight back for £79.
Liverpool
If petrol prices weren't so high then jumping in the car and heading south would be the best option. And it still could be but alternatively there are plenty train and bus options to the north west.
Naples
The best route is to go with budget airline Ryanair via Dublin and flights can be as cheap as £80 return, although that will rise when dates are released.
Hotel options?
Amsterdam
The 4* Royal Amsterdam Hotel in the city centre costs around £174 for a twin room for one night. Or how about one of the many boat hotels in the city? The Cabin @ MPS Noorderzon will set you back about £130 for two people for one night.
Liverpool
You could book an apartment for three people. The 4* Staycity Aparthotels on Liverpool Waterfront cost just £72 per night for two people or the Jurys Inn Hotel is £189 per night based on two sharing.
Naples
The 4* Palazzo Salgar in the Port of Naples costs £133 per night.
How much is food and drink?
Amsterdam
It's not the cheapest destination but shouldn't tax your budget too much if you visit the right places. A pint costs about €5 but if you venture into the tourist traps then it could be as high as €8. An average meal would cost around €14.
Liverpool
By UK standards, things in Liverpool are actually not too bad price-wise. Earlier this year it was ranked as the fourth-cheapest major city in the UK for a pint at £4.65 on average.
Naples
It's much cheaper than other Italian cities such as Rome and Florence. A pint of beer is around €4. And what else to eat but pizza which you can get for around €5.
