Rangers Champions League fan ban enrages UEFA chief as Ceferin vows to get tough with Napoli over lockout

Rangers’ Champions League fan ban in Napoli has been slammed by UEFA chief Aleksander Ceferin after the Italians also locked Eintracht Frankfurt out of the Diego Maradona stadium – and warned the Serie A side that rules will be changed to prevent such a move in the future.

Napoli went on to win 3-0 against Rangers, who had no supporters inside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and they have infuriated Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt by refusing to give them an allocation for Tuesday night's Champions League showdown.

Now Ceferin has vowed to get tough with clubs who don't hand over the minimum five per cent allocation to away fans as he's revealed he will order clubs to switch the venue in the future unless they hand tickets to away supporters. He said: "If something like this happens again, they won't be playing there. It's very simple, we will change the rules. It's not okay for the Italian authorities to decide that fans are not allowed.

"This situation is intolerable. We urgently need to do something about it because the authorities' decision is absolutely wrong."
