Jason Cundy branded a Motherwell fan an 'absolute disgrace' after he voiced his support in hoping that Rangers reach the Champions League group stages.
Giovanni van Bronkhorst's men face a huge 90 minutes in the Netherlands next week as they bid for a place at Europe's top table - and with that the huge financial benefits that come with competing in the tournament proper. Dutch giants PSV came to Ibrox on Tuesday with the two sides playing out a 2-2 draw.
Celtic already secured their spot in the tournament after winning the Scottish Premiership title last season in Ange Postecoglou's first full campaign in Scotland. One talkSPORT caller phoned-in the Sports Bar to send his well wishes to the Light Blues, but his call didn't go down well with host Cundy who fired into an on-air rant. Co-host Jamie O'Hara could understand where caller David was coming from, and tried to explain to his position - but it went down like a lead balloon.

Motherwell themselves were in Europe earlier this summer, but they suffered a shock Europa Conference League defeat to Sligo Rovers.

Cundy: "David, you said you're not a Rangers fan?"
Caller (David): "No, I'm not. I want Scottish teams to do good. It'd be good to have two teams in the Champions League group stage."
Cundy: "You're a Motherwell fan? You're a disgrace, David. An absolute disgrace, an absolute disgrace."
Caller (David): "When it comes to Motherwell versus Rangers, I always want Motherwell to win."
Cundy: "You should be ashamed, mate. I'm sorry. I'm guessing the same rule apply in Scotland as they do in England?"
Caller (David): "I want them to make it to the group stage, it'd be good for Scottish football."
Cundy: "Why, why? Why does it matter to you? Why do you care?"
O'Hara: "David, I'm on your side on this one. He wants to see Rangers and Celtic in the Champions League. It helps the Scottish league and brings more attention to it."
Cundy: "Okay, you're [O'Hara] a Spurs fan. Do you want Chelsea to do well?"
O'Hara: "The Premier League is completely different."
Cundy: "No it's not. The same rules apply. So you become less of a fan if you're a Scottish fan, is that what you're saying?"
O'Hara: "I'm not saying you become less of a fan. He's a Motherwell fan, he wants to see the Scottish teams get into the Champions League. Motherwell aren't going to get into the Champions League are they?"
Cundy: "Why does he care?"
O'Hara: "It's going to improve people watching Scottish football. If Rangers and Celtic do well in the Champions League, more players are going to go 'Do you know what? That's a decent league I might go there."
Cundy: "No it's not! No it's not! There's nobody in Croatia going, 'Oh have you seen them in Scotland? I might go and join them.' It doesn't happen, it's a myth! You support your club and you want the other teams to fail."
