JAMES TAVERNIER has reflected on an unforgettable Rangers season full of "ups and downs with a lot of emotions".
The Rangers captain was everpresent on the domestic and European stage this term as the club excelled in the Europa League.
The Ibrox club reached the final of the European competition before an agonising shoot-out loss to Frankfurt in Seville.
But later in the same week, it was a memory of success created as they lifted the Scottish Cup at Hampden with a win over Hearts.
Off the park, Scottish football united in mourning over the deaths of Rangers heroes Walter Smith and Jimmy Bell.
Smith, who holds legendary status at Ibrox for his 21 trophy wins and the 2008 UEFA Cup run to the final, passed away on October 26 last year.
And long-time Rangers kit-man Bell, who was highly respected by players and staff past and present, passed away earlier this month.
Reflecting on the year at Ibrox, Tavernier shared on his Instagram: "This season has had its ups and downs with a lot of emotions.
"I couldn’t be more prouder of the players, The staff, The club and the fans who have gave us unbelievable support all year 💙
"Memories along the way we’ll never forget.
"Enjoy your break.. Can’t wait for next season 🇬🇧"
