Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 'reflect' confession as Celtic improvement message fired

Giovanni van Bronckhorst admits many things went wrong against Celtic as he confessed to reflecting on his decisions.

Rangers were hammered 4-0 by their Old Firm rivals as Ange Postecoglou's troops sent out an early season title chase marker with a thumping win. It leaves the Hoops with six wins from six while the Light Blues have four wins, one draw and one defeat. The result sees the Ibrox men trailing the champions by five points in the early season table.

Ajax are next up for a hurting Rangers side as they bid to bounce back in style and give their Champions League campaign the perfect kick-start. They've already won in the Netherlands this season at PSV and will be looking to tap into that experience and get over their major Old Firm disappointment.

Van Bronckhorst has complete belief and trust in his squad as they look to put things right from the weekend and get the confidence flowing once again.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Dutchman said: "We were all disappointed at the weekend, the worst feeling you can have at a game. We have to get back up and be ready for the next game.

"We definitely need to improve from Saturday, we have to learn from our defeats and keep going. After a defeat, you reflect on your own decisions, many things went wrong on Saturday.

"I have to keep trusting my players, we have bounced back before from poor results and we will need to do so again. You have to feel the emotions after a defeat like that to be able to bounce back hard.

"We were straight in on Sunday to reflect and then prepare for Ajax. I have suffered big defeats in my career, you have to learn and develop from your defeats to grow. We have spoken on what we need to improve.

"After a defeat, you are very down which is normal but you have to then look forward and learn from the mistakes.

"I believe in this squad. We have to continue to develop this squad and make us stronger. We have had to reach a high level already with important Champions League qualification matches.

"Now, we need to continue to get better and stronger. I am sure we will develop as a team in the coming months."
