David Martindale has downplayed the significance of boos from the Rangers crowd ahead of his side's visit to Ibrox tomorrow evening.
Michael Beale and his team were booed at full-time after their 1-0 win over Motherwell at the weekend.
A Cyriel Dessers goal was enough to secure three points in the Premiership for the hosts, but a sizable portion of the Ibrox faithful were not satisfied by the performance.
Beale himself admitted post-match that the showing from his players was not good enough.
But Martindale insists too much has been made of the reaction by the crowd on Sunday.
He said: "I didn't think the booing was as bad as was made out. It was only about five seconds. Mick was honest afterwards, he said it wasn't a great performance, but they still won the game and got three points.
"In Mick and Rangers' defence they're missing some influential players. Todd Cantwell's one of the best players in the Premiership, Tom Lawrence I've always thought was a good player, Nico Raskin has been really consistent and then Rabbi Matondo gets injured.
"I take more out of that than the reaction from the crowd later on. We've just got to go there focused on Livingston and how we nullify their threats. What's gone unseen about Sunday's game is Rangers created three or four good opportunities, even if they were saves Liam Kelly should make.
"They were fortuitous with the goal because I don't think Cyriel Dessers meant it. But they still created opportunities, though so did Motherwell."
He added: "If you look at the back four and midfield two, they have got good continuity. John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and the back four all know the script. There's still a wee bit of transition in terms of adapting to Scottish football. When you throw in the injuries they've had in the offensive areas, that makes it even more difficult to get that.
"The most difficult part of the game is putting the ball in the net and that's probably the area where they've not had that continuity because most of their signings have been in that area.
"They also lost three players in Ianis Hagi, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent who understood Scottish football and did very well at stages in their Rangers careers. I'll tell you at 10pm on Wednesday night whether this is a good time to play Rangers.
"But would I rather be going to face Rangers. with Lawrence, Matondo, Cantwell and Raskin unavailable? I'd be a liar to say that doesn't really bother me. As the manager of Livingston going into a quarter-final, those four players are very good in a Rangers team. I'm not going to say I'm delighted they're injured, but I'm happy they're unavailable."
