Rangers board treats fans with contempt and there are massive problems in the background - Hotline

Rangers were the only show in town for a Hotline with little compliments or well wishes for the Light Blues.

There's concern and disharmony across the board with issues both on and off the park.

Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: "Rangers dug out a win at Dundee on Sunday but it only proved that Gio Van Bronckhorst doesn’t have the quality in the squad to be able to give his important players a rest and it will catch up with them. If you take Joe Aribo out of that team they can’t create anything as was shown in the first half on Sunday"

Dean Ridgers, Barassie, said: "The only thing the Rangers fan protest did on Sunday was prove they’ve got jacket pockets big enough to hold a toilet roll. The way to make a board listen is to hit the club financially. Are the Rangers fans willing to do that given their situation?"

Robert Frew, Glasgow, said: "Does Hotline caller John Bruce think Rangers would have done so 'incredibly well' on Sunday had they been away to fifth placed Spurs instead of the bottom of the league Dundee."

Bud Hay, Dumfries, said: "I nearly choked on my Corn Flakes when I read all these Hotline callers saying Rangers will win the Premiership. Celtic can only lose it and when we do win it, will it be the same excuse that Rangers were playing too many games and they should start every game with a penalty as they get one nearly every game?"

Eddie Easson, Ballingry, said: "There are massive problems in the background at Rangers with a board which treats the support and ex-players with contempt. How many greats have lost their hospitality jobs because of their allegiance to Dave King?

"Why weren’t the supporters at least consulted about the Aussie Old Firm match? Didn’t the board realise Big Ange is a hero there?

"We've also had some great soundbites from Connor Goldson, a man who won’t sign a new contract. We know what direction he is taking and it’s out the door kissing the badge."

Barriemore Barlow, Dunbartonshire , said: "There is more work to be done on the Rangers squad than people think. GVB clearly doesn't fancy Filip Helander or Borna Barisic while Aaron Ramsey and Amad Diallo will go. James Sands is worse than Bongani Zungu and time is up on Steven Gerrard signings, Cedric Itten, Scott Wright and Jack Simpson. Leon Balogun will soon be 34-years-old so they need a signing blitz from May onwards."

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "What a great life the Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has. Watching cartoons every Sunday and Dragons Den every Thursday."

Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, said: "It's time for Van Bronckhorst to make a change for the betterment of the side by bringing Alex Lowry straight into the starting Xl for the Old Firm derby at Ibrox. He's a game changer and was outstanding for the reserves in their 3-0 win over Celtic. He scored a great goal he controlled the game and definitely has the ability to go all the way and play in the first team. Sometimes to win leagues and cups you have to take a chance on someone."

Gerry Kelly emailed: "Rangers can stick the 700 tickets they've offered to Celtic for the Old Firm game at Ibrox back in the drawer. Celtic should just say no.

"Rangers gave Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade 2000 tickets I believe so why are we getting 700? It was Rangers who started this no ticket carry on all to appease their fans so they need to up the ticket allocation or forget it."

Martin McWhinnie, Sydney, said: "I’m a Rangers fan living in Sydney and have supported the club all my life. I was a season ticket holder before I moved over and why should I miss out on watching my team play because people at home are not happy?

"Rangers are a global brand which is not confined to Glasgow and the fans over here pay their money for Rangers TV and get up early Every weekend to follow the team. Let us have our chance to see our team playing and stop the nonsense."
