Hamilton Accies will travel to Rangers B in the SPFL Trust Trophy.
The draw for the third round took place this afternoon and it served up some intriguing ties for Lanarkshire sides.
Accies enter at this stage of the competition and John Rankin's men have been paired with David McCallum's young Gers, who thrashed Dumbarton 7-0 last midweek in round two.
League One sides Airdrieonians and Clyde also make their entrance into the competition and Diamonds player-boss Rhys McCabe will take his side to Alloa Athletic, while Danny Lennon's Bully Wee host Welsh side Carnarvon Town at New Douglas Park.
The ties will be played on the weekend of September 24/25.
Third round winners will progress to the last 16 of the competition, which is set to be played in December.
Albion Rovers crashed out of the competition in round one following a 3-2 defeat at home to Celtic B, as did Motherwell B who lost 2-1 to Lowland League East Kilbride. Kevin Rutkiewicz's East Kilbride side were then beaten by League Two Annan Athletics on penalties last midweek in round two, following a 2-2 draw at K-Park.
