David Goodwillie could make his debut for Clyde tonight against Rangers B after making his controversial return to the club earlier today.
The Bully Wee have agreed a loan deal with Raith Rovers, bringing the striker to Broadwood until the end of the season, after his move in the opposite direction last month sparked uproar and caused the Kirkcaldy club to admit they'd 'got it wrong' by bringing the player to the club.
Goodwillie, who was ruled a rapist in a 2017 civil court case, never played for Rovers.
But tonight he has been named on the bench for Clyde's City of Glasgow Cup clash against Rangers B and could get his first match action in over a month in the behind closed doors game.
It comes just as North Lanarkshire Council released a statement saying they would be reviewing their 'commercial partnership arrangements with Clyde', given Goodwillie's re-signing.
The statement read: "In light of Clyde Football Club’s announcement confirming the return of David Goodwillie, we are reviewing all our commercial partnership arrangements with the club. We will announce the outcome as soon as all information has been considered and communicated directly with the club.
"The stadium had previously been under the management of North Lanarkshire Leisure Ltd, a separate entity to the council, but is now directly under council control.
"The council utterly condemns all and any violence towards, or abuse of, women. We offer a range of services to support women who experience abuse through Rape Crisis Lanarkshire and Aura and we would urge anyone in this position to make contact."
